Head of Engineering (f/m/d) – SaaS | Team Building | Scaling

Remote within Germany

A fast-growing SaaS company in the real estate and energy sector is looking for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of building and scaling the engineering function. As Head of Engineering, you’ll play a key role in shaping the technical organization and driving the digital transformation of an entire industry.

What you’ll do

  • Build and develop a high-performing, diverse, and motivated engineering team
  • Define clear responsibilities, processes, and engineering standards
  • Lead with a focus on self-organization, delivery capability, and technical excellence
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO and product teams to shape a scalable and future-proof roadmap
  • Help shape the broader organization – including roles, leadership structures, and agile team formats
  • Work closely with the CTO and leadership team to define principles and structures for a scalable tech organization – with strategic influence and room to shape leadership models

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in dynamic tech environments (SaaS, cloud, continuous delivery, DDD)
  • Strong technical expertise combined with strategic thinking
  • Proven track record in scaling engineering teams and developing modern technical organizations
  • A clear, people-centric leadership style focused on ownership and collaboration
  • Fluency in English (our engineering team works in English); German is a plus
