Who are we looking for?

As the Head of Engineering, you will be instrumental in shaping our technical strategy and ensuring seamless collaboration between the engineering and product teams. Your leadership will drive the development of robust AI and backend systems, intuitive frontends, and scalable cloud infrastructures.

Aufgaben
  1. Team Leadership & Growth: Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of autonomy, technical excellence, and collaboration. Hire and retain top talent, support career development, and ensure team alignment with company values.
  2. Technical Strategy & Vision: Define and drive the long-term technical vision, ensuring it supports business and product goals. Make key architectural decisions and guide technology choices across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between engineering and other teams, especially product and design. Ensure strong communication, shared understanding, and efficient delivery of features aligned with company objectives.
  4. Process & Quality Improvement: Establish and refine engineering processes focused on speed, quality, and scalability. Promote best practices in testing, deployment, and development workflows to enhance productivity and reliability.
  5. Scaling the Product: Design systems that scale with user and business growth. Ensure the platform remains performant, secure, and resilient, leveraging AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
Qualifikation
  1. Minimum of 7 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  2. Solid experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), APIs, and modern software development practices.
  3. Familiarity with both frontend and backend development technologies preferably with NodeJs or Python and React.
  4. Solid foundational understanding of AI concepts, preferably Agentic AI systems. Ability to engage with technical discussions around intelligent agents, decision-making processes, and AI-driven architectures is a plus.
  5. Experience with scalable architectures and performance optimization in high-traffic applications.
  6. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrates a "get things done" mentality, with the ability to work independently, address bugs, and enhance existing features with innovative solutions.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, valuing feedback, shared responsibilities, and clear communication.
  9. Highly organized, articulate, and committed to deadlines, with fluency in written and spoken English.
  10. Eager to continuously improve and push projects forward, advocating for engineering best practices including clean coding, continuous refactoring, and automated testing.
  11. Thrives in a dynamic, early-stage startup environment, demonstrating resilience and a hunger for growth.
