We are looking for a Head of Department (w/m/d) to join our Group and lead our IT department, specializing in Systems, Virtualization and Storage.

As our Head of Department (w/m/d), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization, driving efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Which tasks will you perform?

• Lead a team of 12 System Engineers, including disciplinary, professional, and budget responsibility.
• Foster a positive team spirit within the department and beyond.
• Lead, motivate and develop the people of your team. Nurture the talents and encourage ownership.
• Continuation, further development and operation of the system landscape in the central datacenter (storage, compute, virtualization and operating systems) and cloud landscape e.g. MS Azure.
• Operation and further development of the company-wide identity and access management platform (EntraID and Active Directory).
• Driving force in optimization operations using suitable solutions (e.g. Terraform, vRA).
• Implementation and execution of the cross-site IT strategy.

What do we expect from you?

• A degree in Computer Science (or related field), an IT related apprenticeship, or other relevant training.
• Several years of professional experience working in IT infrastructure (or similar field) and experience leading teams.
• A willingness to change, leading the changes and possessing an agile mindset.
• Possess strong analytical and strategic abilities to make informed decisions.
• Have excellent communication skills to inspire and guide others.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer orientation to continuously improve our services.
• Professional working proficiency in both German and English.
