The CBM (Compressed Baryonic Matter) department at GSI extends the international collaboration for the CBM experiment and seeks an internationally renowned scientist with leadership experience to shape and advance its technological and scientific program in close collaboration with the CBM collaboration, universities, and research institutes in Germany and worldwide.
The position is permanent and located in Darmstadt, Germany, within the FAIR project (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research). The CBM experiment aims to explore the phase diagram of strongly interacting matter at high net baryon densities with unprecedented precision. The CBM department hosts the collaboration and comprises about 20 scientists, engineers, and technicians, contributing to detectors and related infrastructure.
