Job Title: Head of Credit Risk Portfolio Management

Location: London / Frankfurt

Corporate Title: Director

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function provides a comprehensive view of the Bank’s risk profile across risk types, businesses, and geographies. It owns overarching responsibilities for key risk management capabilities, such as risk appetite, risk identification, and group-wide stress testing. ERM also acts as the risk controlling function for credit risk.

The Credit Risk Control Function, a recently established team within ERM, is responsible for setting and cascading credit risk appetite, self-governing portfolio monitoring of the bank’s overall credit risk profile, CLP reporting, forecasting, and ownership of selected credit risk models. The team collaborates closely with the credit risk organization.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow the Credit Risk Portfolio Management team, transforming its operating model and processes.

Your key responsibilities

  • Oversee the Bank’s global credit portfolios, including managing client-specific and portfolio concentrations, and credit risk appetite across various levels
  • Assess qualitative and quantitative developments in credit portfolios, including credit quality trends and emerging risks
  • Monitor macroeconomic environments and analyze potential impacts on credit portfolios
  • Manage and improve key risk management processes, such as credit risk identification and framework
  • Lead a team of approximately 5 members across Germany and the UK, fostering a collaborative team culture
  • Partner with teams in CRO, especially Credit Risk Management and Group Portfolio Management, to implement solutions aligned with the Bank’s strategy and regulatory requirements

Your skills and experience

  • Deep knowledge of credit risk management principles, preferably within investment or corporate banking
  • Extensive experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including external auditors and regulators, in high-pressure environments
  • A proactive mindset with a disciplined approach and energetic attitude
