Job summary

Selescope in Düsseldorf is seeking a Head of Controlling - WIP Accounting Construction (m/f) to lead WIP accounting under IFRS 15, oversee project valuation, margin recognition and the integrity of financial data for our German entities.

You will drive monthly closings, budgets, forecasts and variance analyses, act as a strategic finance partner to operations, and champion automation with Power BI, Power Query and AI-based finance tools.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in WIP accounting and IFRS 15 project valuation, margins and reporting.
• Experience leading finance for multiple entities in a large group.
• Strong data integrity, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Professional level English in an international context.

To support the development and organizational structuring of several of our companies in Germany, we are looking to appoint our:

Head of Controlling - WIP Accounting Construction (m/f)

You will act as the key Finance contact for several Group entities in Germany, with overall responsibility for their financial management and performance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• 1. Project Controlling & WIP Accounting
  • Lead WIP accounting in accordance with IFRS 15, including project valuation, revenue and margin recognition, and project profitability analysis.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of project financial data.
  • Challenge operational teams and ensure financial figures are consistent with actual project progress.
  • Lead monthly and annual closings and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses to support performance management.
  • Review financial statements and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• 3. Cash Management & Business Partnering
  • Prepare cash flow reporting and forecasts, identifying opportunities to optimize cash and working capital.
  • Act as a key Finance business partner to operational and management teams, providing financial insight and supporting decision-making.

You have advanced expertise in financial office and reporting tools, particularly Power Query, Power BI and AI-based finance solutions, enabling you to automate processes and reporting. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or FNO ERP systems would be a significant advantage.

Throughout your career, you have ideally gained management experience, enabling you to continue structuring and developing the teams under your responsibility. However, while management experience is not essential, the ability to independently manage a complete financial scope is. You know how to combine high standards with support and development, adopting a management approach based on coaching and empowerment. You are comfortable conducting detailed reviews of project performance and monitoring.

Your methodological rigor enables you to strengthen and continuously improve our internal processes.
