Your mission

• As Head of Controlling, you will assume overall strategic responsibility for setting up, developing, and managing our controlling landscape. You will drive the continuous optimization of budget, forecasting, and planning processes, ensuring their integration into the corporate strategy.
• You will also oversee the technical and personnel management of our Controlling team and be responsible for its further development.
• You will develop and manage a comprehensive system of key figures to monitor company performance, ensure the quality of financial data, and establish transparent, forward-looking reporting.
• You will create and present management reports and analyses to support decision-making and help implement measures to achieve company goals.
• You will set up and maintain reporting databases and dashboards (e.g., in Power BI), ensuring clarity and visual quality in all reports and presentations.
• You will conduct variance analyses and profitability calculations, ensuring compliance with financial targets and guidelines.
• You will act as a strategic partner for management and departments, fostering cross-departmental cooperation, and continuously developing the Controlling team both professionally and personally.

Your profile

• You have over 5 years of experience in controlling or FP&A, including team leadership and coordination experience.
• You have proven responsibility for budgeting and monthly reporting processes.
• You have hands-on experience with Power BI or similar tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and can build and maintain reporting databases and data pipelines.
• You possess strong skills in designing appealing reports and dashboards for management.
• Your Excel and PowerPoint skills are excellent.
• You have a track record of developing or establishing controlling processes and are motivated to scale them with a hands-on approach.
• You demonstrate high responsibility, commitment, and flexibility to achieve company goals.
• You work thoroughly, analytically, and structured, with excellent data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of SAP, especially in S4Hana, is an advantage.
• You are fluent in written and spoken German and English.

Founded in Aachen in 2022 by three visionary founders, including a female CEO, cylib develops innovative, resource- and climate-friendly battery material recovery processes.

Our process

The cylib process offers a complete end-to-end solution from battery pack to green battery material, utilizing mechanical and thermal pre-treatments, along with water-based lithium and graphite recovery. Unlike traditional methods, cylib can recover materials such as lithium, graphite, and manganese, developed over years of research at RWTH Aachen University, enabling efficient, sustainable battery material recovery.
