Readly is seeking a Head of Content to enhance publisher relationships and content portfolio in the DACH region and Europe. This leadership role involves strategic oversight, team management, and driving content performance to support growth. Readly is looking for a seasoned Head of Content to lead and evolve our publisher relationships and content portfolio across the German-speaking markets and broader Europe. This is a key leadership role, combining strategic oversight, commercial responsibility, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will report directly to our Chief Content Officer (temporarily held by our CEO) and lead a small team of account managers. Your focus will be on strengthening relationships with publishing partners, driving content performance, and contributing to Readly’s growth through an optimized, relevant, and high-performing portfolio.
Readly offers unlimited access to thousands of national and international magazines and newspapers, all in one app. We've partnered with 1,200+ world-famous publishers, providing readers with 7,500+ titles and over 210,000 back issues. Users across 50 markets have already read 83 million magazines. We're a value-driven ecosystem committed to bringing the magic of magazines into the digital future, with a mission to make trusted content available anytime, anywhere. Our goal is to boost journalistic content consumption through an innovative digital product, while minimizing our climate impact. With a dedicated team of 100+ professionals in Sweden, Germany and the UK, we're making magazines and trusted journalism more accessible than ever.
Manage and grow strategic relationships with publishing partners across the DACH region and other key European markets
Lead a team of 2–3 account managers, with responsibility for team development and performance
Analyze content performance and commercial outcomes, leading regular portfolio reviews with stakeholders
Negotiate agreements and manage contract renewals, with a focus on sustainable revenue growth
Identify opportunities for content innovation, including new formats and partnership models
Oversee accreditation and reporting to industry circulation bodies (IVW, ÖAK, WEMF)
Work closely with Product and Marketing to improve content discoverability and user engagement
Represent Readly in publisher meetings, negotiations, and relevant industry events
What we are looking for
Extensive experience within the publishing industry or closely related sectors, ideally with established networks
Demonstrated success in commercial negotiations and managing high-value partnerships
Experience in leading teams and driving cross-functional collaboration
Comfortable operating in a scale-up or fast-moving digital business
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data to inform decisions
Based in Berlin (or open to relocation)
Fluent in German and English
