Job summary

Zeppelin GmbH in Garching near Munich seeks a Head of CoE Accounting (m/f/d) to lead the Center of Excellence Accounting team and ensure IFRS-compliant consolidated reporting across the Group. You will standardize processes, drive automation, and partner with auditors, tax, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting within an international corporation or auditing firm.
• Several years of leadership experience in a similar role.
• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or an equivalent.
• Additional professional qualifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Strong IT skills with SAP S/4HANA and related tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent German and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements; develop and standardize accounting policies and processes.
• Report to Director Accounting, Controlling, Risk, ICT & Insurance; ensure compliance and professional reporting for Group companies.
• Act as sparring partner for Group Management Board and auditors; coordinate with finance managers worldwide.
• Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements and IFRS compliance across the Group.
• Lead the Center of Excellence Accounting Team to optimize structure and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with legal and internal Group requirements; serve as contact for auditors and authorities.
• Promote global standardization and automation of accounting processes and use data analytics to improve reporting.

\"Head of CoE Accounting (m/f/d)\"

For our Zeppelin Finance Organization at our location in Garching near Munich, we are currently looking for a \"Head of CoE Accounting (m/f/d)\".

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Group’s financial statements are prepared properly, on time, and efficiently, as well as for the continuous development of accounting policies, standards and processes.


• Report to our Director Accounting, Controlling, Risk, ICT & Insurance and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and guarantee a professional financial reporting process for all Group companies worldwide.


• Serve as a sparring partner for the Group Management Board, the Heads of Accounting, Controlling, Risk, ICT & Insurance, Group Controlling, Treasury, and Tax, as well as the auditors and finance managers of the Group companies.


• Assume overall responsibility for the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and help ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards throughout the Group.


• Lead the Center of Excellence Accounting Team and thereby ensure the development of an efficient and standardized accounting structure.


• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal Group requirements (including those related to the Group-wide chart of accounts) and serve as the point of contact for auditors and government agencies.


• Harmonize and standardize global accounting processes and optimize financial reporting processes, and use automation, digitalization, and AI solutions to improve efficiency.

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in the accounting department of an international corporation or an auditing firm


• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable position


• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a comparable qualification


• Additional professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, Certified Auditor) are considered an advantage


• In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS


• Good knowledge of modern IT systems (such as SAP S/4HANA, Global Lease Center, Global Tax Center)


• Strong affinity for digitalization, automation, and data analysis


• Strong leadership and communication skills


• Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
