Job summary

Infrassocs Limited in Berlin seeks a Head of Accounting to own accounting, tax and audit across group entities, reporting to the CFO, and to help build an internationally scalable finance function.

You will oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closes, coordinate VAT and corporate tax with external advisors, and lead the audit process while managing intercompany reconciliations and cross-border transactions. A hands-on mindset and strong German HGB knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, tax and audit, ideally in both a tax advisory or audit firm and an in-house role
• Strong knowledge of HGB and a solid understanding of German tax and audit processes; IFRS experience is a plus
• Experience with intercompany accounting across multiple entities and countries
• Excellent ownership and a hands-on mindset

Responsibilities

• Develop accounting policies, internal controls and closing processes
• Work closely with external accounting providers
• Support the finance team on budgeting, cash planning, fundraising and due diligence

Our client develops and operates grid-scale battery storage across several European markets, providing utilities, industrial companies and power generators with flexible capacity and hedging products. To support its continued growth, we are looking for a Head of Accounting (m/f/d) in Berlin. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role owns accounting, tax and audit across all group entities and will help build an internationally scalable finance function.

Key responsibilities:

• Own accounting across all group entities, including monthly, quarterly and annual closes
• Prepare and review financial statements under HGB and support group reporting
• Coordinate all tax matters (VAT, corporate tax, transfer pricing) with external tax advisors
• Lead the audit process as the main point of contact for auditors
• Manage intercompany reconciliations, recharges and eliminations, and build robust processes for cross-border transactions
• Develop accounting policies, internal controls and closing processes
• Work closely with external accounting providers
• Support the finance team on budgeting, cash planning, fundraising and due diligence

Candidate profile:

• Vocational training or degree in accounting, finance or tax, ideally with a qualification such as Steuerfachangestellte/r, Bilanzbuchhalter/in, Steuerberater/in or equivalent
• Several years of experience in accounting, tax and audit, ideally in both a tax advisory or audit firm and an in-house role
• Strong knowledge of HGB and a solid understanding of German tax and audit processes; IFRS experience is a plus
• Experience with intercompany accounting across multiple entities and countries
• Strong sense of ownership and a hands‑on mindset
• Business fluent German and very good English
• Proficient in DATEV, Excel and common ERP systems
