The Head Accountant Business Unit m/f/d is responsible for overseeing all accounting and reporting activities for our manufacturing facility in Wetzlar.

This position reports to the Finance Manager Business Units Europe and is part of the Finance Service Center Europe located in Wetzlar, Germany. It will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead month-end closing activities, including journal entries preparation and account reconciliation.
• Prepare financial statements for corporate reporting as well as for yearly local statutory accounts.
• Ensure compliance of financial processes and transactions with internal control rules.
• Support daily bookkeeping work in accounts payable, receivables, and treasury.
• Contribute to finance process improvement projects such as automation to streamline accounting operations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Certified financial accountant with solid knowledge of local German accounting principles (HGB) or equivalent education (master’s degree in finance & accounting).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally with general ledger responsibility in an international corporate environment.
• Fluent in German and able to communicate effectively in business English.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Usage of SAP as an ERP system.
• Familiarity with US GAAP accounting norms and SOX internal control processes.

Der Head Accountant Business Unit m/f/d ist verantwortlich für die Überwachung aller Buchhaltungs- und Berichtstätigkeiten für unsere Produktionsstätte in Wetzlar.

Diese Position berichtet an den Finance Manager Business Unit Europe und ist Teil des Finance Service Center Europe in Wetzlar, Deutschland. Wird eine Vor-Ort-Rolle sein.

In dieser Rolle haben Sie die Möglichkeit:

• Monatliche Abschlussaktivitäten, einschließlich der Vorbereitung von Buchungssätzen und Kontenabstimmungen, zu leiten.
• Finanzberichte für die Unternehmensberichterstattung sowie für jährliche lokale gesetzliche Abschlüsse vorzubereiten.
• Sicherzustellen, dass die Finanzprozesse und Transaktionen den internen Kontrollregeln entsprechen.
• Die tägliche Buchhaltungsarbeit in den Bereichen Kreditoren, Debitoren und Treasury zu unterstützen.
• Zu Finanzprozessverbesserungsprojekten wie Automatisierung beizutragen, um die Buchhaltungsoperationen zu optimieren.

Die wesentlichen Anforderungen der Stelle umfassen:

• Zertifizierter Finanzbuchhalter mit soliden Kenntnissen der lokalen deutschen Rechnungslegungsgrundsätze (HGB) oder gleichwertiger Ausbildung (Master-Abschluss in Finanzen & Buchhaltung).
• Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Finanzbuchhaltung, idealerweise mit Hauptbuchverantwortung in einem internationalen Unternehmensumfeld.
• Fließend in Deutsch und Fähigkeit, in Business-Englisch zu kommunizieren.

Es wäre von Vorteil, wenn Sie auch Erfahrung in folgenden Bereichen haben:

• Nutzung von SAP als ERP-System.
• Kenntnisse in US-GAAP-Buchhaltungsnormen und SOX-Internen Kontrollprozessen.
