Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Hazardous Device Specialist / Public Safety Professional for a contract, remote position. The role involves writing challenging prompts in energetic materials, labeling them as benign, dual-use, or adversarial, and evaluating responses against a policy standard.

You will craft reference answers with technical reasoning and ensure models refuse genuinely dangerous questions while providing thorough, legitimate guidance.

Qualifications

• Certified bomb technician or hazardous device operator experience.
• Military EOD background with civilian public-safety training or instruction experience.
• Bomb squad commander or training officer experience.
• Experience in post-blast investigation and device reconstruction.
• CBRNE technical response experience.
