DESCRIPTION

Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Area Manager, you'll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that helps maintain our operations safe, efficient, and of high quality, while taking on various projects across our network to drive productivity.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.
  2. Analyze and implement changes to maintain quality and productivity at consistently high levels.
  3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance quality of service for customers within your area of responsibility.
  4. Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
  5. Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices.

Language Requirement: German language skills (C1-level at least) are mandatory!


A day in the life:
You'll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on driving a culture of safety and maintaining quality and shift performance standards. A typical day includes routine team management, daily operational responsibilities, process improvements, and wide-scale operational contingency tasks. You'll also act as a role model and mentor to new managers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A degree.
  2. Relevant experience in people management.
  3. Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  4. Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
  2. Experience in another logistics environment.
  3. Relevant experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
