KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mission or Purpose of the Role

• Manage accounting processes for multiple entities across different countries, requiring an understanding of diverse financial regulations and compliance standards.

Accounting

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Process and monitor expense reports and reimbursements.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions into our tech stack (SAP Business ByDesign, HubSpot, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulations.

Monthly Closing and Reporting

• Reconcile and analyse account balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and variances in financial data.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Assist in the consolidation of international group entities into comprehensive reports.
• Provide insights and analysis on financial performance and variances.

Other Financial Projects

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
• Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management.

Key Stakeholders or Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Bring analytical capabilities and problem solving skills in strategic cross-department projects and initiatives.

Impact of the Role

• Play a critical role in handling the accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely monthly closings, and preparing comprehensive financial reports.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 to 12 years’ experience in accounting or finance.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of legal and accounting regulations in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional context.
• Familiarity with German accounting, especially for companies with more than 100 employees or 10 million euros in turnover.
• Fluency in English and German, other languages would be appreciated.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
