About us:
The Institute of Medical Psychology (IMP) is a research and teaching institute supporting preclinical students in Human Medicine, mentoring doctoral candidates and postgraduates. Our research focuses on chronobiology, neuropsychobiology, behavioral medicine, and lifespan studies, utilizing digital data collection methods like smartphone apps and virtual reality. We aim to integrate scientific findings into behavioral medicine-based prevention and rehabilitation programs.
We are looking for:
Doctoral Student in the C.2 Area of GRK LokoAssist
Locations: Munich and Mannheim
Responsibilities:
Research on the integration of potential users into systems assisting and limiting movements, including investigating movement simulations and their effects on biomechanics, neuromuscular responses, perception, and sensation, using technologies like virtual reality and eye-tracking.

A collaborative, diverse environment with opportunities for training and development within an interdisciplinary team. The position is part of the LokoAssist Graduate Research Training Program, focusing on assistive technologies for individuals with motor impairments, mainly based in Mannheim at the Central Institute of Mental Health.
The initial contract is for two years, extendable to three, with salary in accordance with TV-L group 13. Part-time work is possible. Disabled applicants will be given preference if qualified.
