An established academic institution is seeking a GRI Program Assistant to support research initiatives in Berlin. This role involves serving as the first contact for visiting faculty and graduate students, providing operational assistance during summer dissertation workshops, and coordinating logistics for various academic events. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree, fluency in both German and English, and a strong background in event organization. The Provost's Global Research Initiatives programs support research-related activities: faculty and graduate student visits to the sites; dissertation workshops for doctoral students; funding for workshops and colloquia at the sites and on the Square; and housing for international visitors collaborating with NYU faculty. In Berlin, the GRI Program Assistant will be the on-site first contact person to visiting faculty and graduate students and will also provide operational support during summer dissertation workshops.
Given the growing interest of NYU faculty to organize conferences and colloquia in Berlin, the GRI Program Assistant will serve as the local liaison coordinating venue reservations, logistics, etc.

Principal Accountabilities
The GRI Program Assistant will support on average 30-35 fellows and visiting faculty per year; organize several receptions and other social activities each semester; host up to six conferences annually (the number of events is increasing); and organize 3-4 faculty-initiated book presentations and panel discussions.
