Jobbeschreibung

Business Unit Transformers’ Supply Chain function is committed to strengthening its focus on supplier and material sustainability to contribute to Hitachi Energy’s sustainability vision.

The SCM Sustainability strategy is based on three pillars: supplier sustainability, material sustainability, and material compliance.

As the SCM Material Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for the entire management of the material sustainability pillar, from process definition to implementation and monitoring/reporting across the Business Unit. You will work closely with the Transformers Business Unit Sustainability Head and Global/Regional Category managers.

Your responsibilities
  1. Create the SCM Material sustainability processes roadmap for the business unit.
  2. Contribute to the overall SCM Sustainability strategy creation.
  3. Develop a standardized process flow at the BU level for material sustainability requirements (e.g., CBAM: Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, LCA mapping: Supplier Life Cycle Assessment data mapping).
  4. Define roles and responsibilities within the BU for related functions and regions.
  5. Align with the Business Unit Sustainability Head and M&S (Marketing & Sales) to set annual targets for regional SCMs, define KPIs, monitor progress, and report regularly.
  6. Identify opportunities to improve major suppliers’ material sustainability, promote decarbonization within the supply chain, increase transparency of LCA data, and create business cases with Category managers and M&S.
  7. Respond to customer requests for specific tenders and coordinate data collection from key suppliers.
  8. Develop and organize training on LCA and CBAM basics for the SCM community and promote best practices across categories.
  9. Guide strategic suppliers towards emission-zero goals in collaboration with Global Category Managers.
  10. Monitor upcoming sustainability requirements from customers and legislation, and clarify these to the SCM teams in collaboration with Hitachi Energy SCM.
Your background
  1. Over 10 years of experience in a related industry.
  2. Experience with LCA and/or EPD development.
  3. Leadership experience in strategy/roadmap creation in supply base management or sustainability.
  4. Successful implementation of global sustainability programs, especially related to materials and supplier sustainability (e.g., Life Cycle Assessments, Carbon zero programs, green material projects).
  5. Knowledge of materials sustainability standards such as ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14021/14025, EN 15804 / EN 50693, ISO 14067, Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
  6. Understanding of relevant legislations like the German Supply Chain Act and familiarity with sustainability assessment platforms like Ecovadis is advantageous.
  7. Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills and ability to inspire others.
  8. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills in a global industrial context.
  9. Knowledge of SAP Ariba, SAP Hana is a plus.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  11. Fluent in English, both oral and written.
