Position Overview

Are you a passionate storyteller with a deep curiosity in the technologies transforming how we move, work, and live? NXP is a global leader in semiconductors for the automotive, industrial, and consumer IoT. In the automotive world, we enable the transition to software‑defined, autonomous vehicles that perceive, reason, and act in the real world.

We are seeking an experienced Public Relations professional (f/m/d) – a strategic thinker that helps shape and amplify NXP's voice across these rapidly evolving technology domains. This role will drive strategic communications programs that showcase how NXP technologies enable safer, more intelligent, and more autonomous vehicles, robots, industrial systems, and connected devices.

The ideal candidate combines strong media relations expertise with an understanding of emerging technologies for autonomous systems, software‑defined architectures, vehicle operating systems, digital vehicle platforms, robotics, and next‑generation industrial or IoT solutions. We are looking for a proactive self‑starter with strong editorial skills who thrives in fast‑moving environments and can translate complex technical innovations into compelling narratives for global audiences.

The candidate should possess 5 years of public relations or media relations experience, a proven track record of securing influential media coverage, building lasting relationships with journalists and analysts, and supporting executive thought leadership. Near‑native English skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a strategic global PR and communications plan that supports NXP's ambition in automotive, AI, Software‑Defined Vehicle, and intelligent edge technology portfolios.
• Develop compelling narratives that position NXP as a leader in SDVs, autonomous driving, Physical AI, edge AI, vehicle computing, robotics, and connected systems.
• Write and edit press releases, media alerts, contributed articles, executive speeches, thought leadership content, blogs, and social media communications.
• Support communications for key technologies including automotive compute platforms, vehicle networking, AI processors, sensor fusion, secure connectivity, digital vehicle architectures, and intelligent IoT solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product marketing, strategy, and executive teams to translate complex technologies into business‑relevant stories.
• Identify and capitalize on industry trends related to AI, Physical AI, robotics, software‑defined architectures, autonomous systems, and future mobility.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with technology, automotive, AI, and business media, as well as industry analysts and influencers.
• Support executive thought leadership through media interviews, speaking opportunities, award submissions, and industry events.
• Prepare presentations, media briefing materials, messaging documents, and executive briefing books.
• Maintain repositories of media assets, backgrounders, messaging frameworks, competitive insights, and thought leadership materials.
• Monitor industry news, competitive activity, analyst reports, social conversations, and emerging technology trends to identify communications opportunities.
• Support NXP leaders in participating at global industry events, including CES, Embedded World, electronica, AutoSens, and automotive or AI‑focused conferences.
• Manage third party vendor support, including public relations agency resources.

Qualifications And Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, technology communications, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience managing a public relations agency.
• Experience communicating complex technology topics to business, technical, and consumer audiences.
• Demonstrated interest in at least one of the following areas: Software‑Defined Vehicles, autonomous driving, Artificial Intelligence, Physical AI, robotics, semiconductors, automotive technologies, edge computing, or IoT.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills.
• Experience supporting executive communications and thought leadership programs.
• Experience with social media platforms, including LinkedIn and X, and understanding of how different digital channels support thought leadership and brand visibility.
• Ability to understand and communicate emerging technologies and rapidly evolving industry trends.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work effectively with senior executives, engineers, product teams, and external agencies.
• Experience monitoring and analyzing media coverage, influencer activity, and social media engagement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to travel internationally as needed.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.

Additional Preferred Qualification (Highly Recommended)

• Experience in the automotive, semiconductor, AI, robotics, cloud, or industrial technology sectors.
• Familiarity with concepts such as Software‑Defined Vehicles, vehicle operating systems, AI inferencing at the edge, autonomous systems, Physical AI, robotics, digital twins, and intelligent connected devices.
• Established relationships with automotive, AI, semiconductor, or technology trade media.
