This position is based on-site at our headquarters in Darmstadt.
Your Role
- You lead global packaging projects from the development of innovative packaging solutions through to implementation at our production sites
- You act as the technical owner for packaging compliance and sustainability topics, with a particular focus on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) as well as relevant international packaging requirements
- You develop and maintain packaging standards across the entire packaging lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal, customerand internal requirements
- You establish and manage processes for packaging data collection, recyclability assessments, technical documentationand supplier compliance information
- You work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Operations, and IT to develop and maintain packaging compliance systems, reporting structuresand packaging master data
- You ensure the technical feasibility of packaging solutions with regard to production, filling, logisticsand transportation
- You continuously evaluate and optimize packaging solutions in terms of recyclability, sustainability, cost, qualityand operational efficiency
- You monitor regulatory developments, industry trendsand emerging packaging technologies, translating them into actionable business strategies
- As a subject matter expert, you support customer discussions and respond to packaging-related inquiries and complaints in a solution-oriented manner
Your Profile
- You have successfully completed a degree in Packaging Technology, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a comparable field
- You bring several years of experience in packaging development, packaging engineering, packaging compliance or a related technical function
- You possess strong knowledge of packaging materials, packaging systemsand packaging manufacturing processes
- Experience in packaging sustainability, recyclability assessments, PPWR, EPR, packaging regulations or related compliance requirements is highly desirable
- Experience with packaging data management, SAP or other packaging compliance systems is considered a strong advantage
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical technical solutions
- Your working style is proactive, structured, and solution-oriented, complemented by excellent communication skills and a hands-on mentality
- You are fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
