A leading company in the aviation industry seeks a Global Account Manager for Cargo Sales in Frankfurt. The role involves managing key corporate accounts, developing sales strategies, and collaborating with local teams to achieve revenue objectives. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of cargo market dynamics and strong negotiation skills, with fluency in German being essential.
How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Global Account Manager, Cargo Sales formulates, implements, and manages cargo sales strategies and account plans for Delta Cargo’s Global Accounts. This person is responsible for owning the entire account management and contracting relationship at the key corporate offices in Europe. The Global Account Manager leads and provides guidance and strategic support to local account managers and other key stakeholders to achieve division revenue objectives. The Global Account Manager also works with Sales Development and Revenue Management on tailored customer specific pricing programs including RFQ, RFP, and bids as needed. Extensive regional travel required.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Manage a portfolio of Global accounts, comprised of accounts headquartered in Europe, that contribute to not only European revenue goals but global goals.
Represent the Global Account Team in Europe by being available in region for accounts that belong to members of the team.
Perform account performance reviews both in person and virtually when necessary.
Lead customer requests for pricing requests and work with Sales Development and Revenue Management counterparts to deliver winning bids.
Develop detailed account plans that lay out a path for share growth.
Work with local sales counterparts to drive your set account strategies.
Work with operational counterparts to solve for operational issues that may arise.
Help identify and mentor the future of Delta Cargo in the region.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Must have current work authorization to live/ work in Europe at the time of application. Delta does not sponsor
Extensive knowledge of cargo market dynamics
Must be fluent in the German language.
Experience managing a global account portfolio
Strong orientation towards consultative account management and the understanding of how to create and maintain profitable business relationships with top assigned cargo accounts.
A demonstrated track record of managing revenue-generating projects with measurable goals.
Must possess analytical thinking, strong negotiation skills, and solid decision-making abilities.
A desire to continually develop negotiation and analytical skills, as well as the ability to produce action plans based on data and market intelligence.
Must be able to balance multiple competing priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment, be comfortable in front of senior level executives and have exceptional presentation, oral and written skills.
Must have relationship building abilities, be customer-focused, and have good planning and organizational multi-tasking abilities while working independently.
Strong professional demeanor, be able to work under pressure, meet short deadlines, balance multiple and rapidly shifting priorities with little direct supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Able to travel 50% of the time as needed depending upon location / account assignments, able and willing to establish a virtual office
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Fluency in speaking other European languages would be a plus
Experience being self-reliant for data needs using Tableau and other tools
Salesforce.com experience highly desired
A minimum of 5 years of cargo sales experience
