As the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) makes a significant contribution to the security of citizens.

Its tasks

As a team player in a technical department, you will support a highly motivated team in the operational management of telecommunications surveillance (TKÜ) and be responsible for this area vis-à-vis external and internal bodies. You will also take on tasks in 2nd level support and administer the software tools required for your area. You will provide support in application operations for the procedures operated by your unit. Additionally, you will be the unit's contact person for training IT specialists for system integration.

Salary and prospects
  • Permanent employment up to pay grade 12 TV EntgO Bund, with the possibility of subsequent civil servant status (€53,380.10 to €83,414.27 annual gross salary)
  • Transfer of civil servants up to A 11 BBesO A if career law requirements are met
  • Payment of an IT specialist allowance
  • Payment of an intelligence service allowance
  • Depending on qualification recognition and previous experience
Your profile

You are a German citizen and have:

  • An IHK trainer aptitude certificate, or
  • A completed (technical) university degree (Bachelor / Dipl. [FH]) in computer science / business informatics, or
  • Equivalent skills and experience through relevant activities, or
  • At least two years of professional experience as an IT specialist in system integration

Students graduating within twelve months after the application deadline may also apply.

Additional requirements
  • Proven experience supervising trainees as IT specialists for system integration
  • In-depth knowledge of IT operations
  • Excellent knowledge of IT project management
  • Very good knowledge of network and server technology
  • Willingness to be on call and travel for work
