Ignite, based near Munich in Geretsried, seeks a Technical Team Lead for System Administration & Infrastructure. You will lead a team of IT technicians, drive project delivery, and manage complex IT environments across Windows, Linux, VMware, Azure and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Technical Team Lead for System Administration & Infrastructure (m/f/d) to join a growing IT and digitalization partner based in Geretsried, south of Munich. Dedicated to connecting customers and operating as technology partners at eye level, we specialize in cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions. In this pivotal dual-track role, you will lead and mentor a team of technicians, manage team workflows, and drive IT infrastructure projects for our clients. Beyond immediate team leadership, this position offers an exceptional career trajectory with the explicit opportunity to grow into a broader "Betriebsleiter" (Operations Director) position over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and organize a team of IT technicians, taking full responsibility for task allocation, process management, and workflow efficiency.
• Technical Project Leadership: Act as the primary technical contact and project lead for assigned client accounts, overseeing advisory, planning, and implementation phases with precision.
• IT Infrastructure & Administration: Oversee and execute advanced system administration tasks across Windows Server, Linux, Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, and modern network technologies.
• Customer Support: Provide high-level technical support (both remote and on-site) for clients within a local 45-minute radius.
• Infrastructure Development: Design, scale, and future-proof complex IT landscapes at the cutting edge of technology to meet evolving enterprise demands.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Must-Haves

• Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience in IT system administration, infrastructure management, or technical support (initial leadership experience is strongly preferred).
• Technical Expertise: Sound server and client knowledge, with proficiency across Microsoft environments (Windows Server, M365), Linux, VMware, cloud platforms (Azure), network technology, backup solutions, and monitoring tools.
• Education: Completed vocational IT training (e.g., Fachinformatiker) or a comparable technical qualification / degree.
• Language Skills: Fließende Deutschkenntnisse (C1 minimum) for seamless client and team communication, and professional working proficiency in English (B2 minimum).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, customer-oriented thinking, strong problem-solving orientation, and a deeply collaborative team mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience managing technical teams or leading IT projects in a service provider / managed service provider (MSP) environment.
