EWI Recruitment is seeking a freelance BOP/Civil Manager to coordinate foundation works and general civil tasks for WTG concrete tower assembly in a hybrid setup with a Hamburg base. The role requires German language fluency and strong civil engineering and project control skills.

You will manage costs, schedules, and resources across multiple sites while ensuring strict health, safety and environmental compliance. Travel to sites will be occasional as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Business level German language skills are a non-negotiable requirement.
• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years' experience managing construction projects, preferably infrastructure or wind energy.

Our onshore wind OEM client has a requirement for a freelance BOP/Civil Manager to coordinate foundation works and general civil works for their WTG concrete tower assembly team.

This role is hybrid working with 2 or 3 days a week in their Hamburg office and the rest of each week can be worked remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control project costs, ensuring delivery within approved budgets and identifying opportunities for optimisation
• Oversee contract compliance throughout the civil works and site preparation phases
• Work closely with site teams to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans and risk mitigation measures
• Ensure all sites are adequately resourced in terms of personnel, equipment and materials
• Monitor progress across multiple sites, prepare reporting and provide clear updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Support site supervisors in resolving construction issues, delays and technical challenges
• Maintain full compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental standards across all activities
• Act as a key link between site operations and internal departments during the construction and site readiness stages

Requirements

• Business level German language skills a non-negotiable requirement.
• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• At least 5 years' experience managing construction projects, ideally within infrastructure, heavy civil works or wind energy
• Strong commercial awareness with proven experience in budget control and cost management
• Experience in project planning, including scheduling, resource allocation and risk management
• Ability to resolve issues effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Good understanding of wind farm construction activities, equipment and applicable standards
• Familiarity with project planning and cost control tools such as MS Project or Primavera
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to site for occasional site visits.
