As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, shaping the future of the Construction Industry. We focus on safety, people, and sustainability while delivering high-quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs.

This role offers opportunities to travel and work across multiple countries and cultures, with approximately 30% travel within Europe and EMEA.

Key job responsibilities

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, clear blockers, and escalate issues as needed.
3. Communicate effectively, assess risks, influence outcomes, and oversee professional service providers.
4. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and manage project estimates, schedules, and forecasting.
5. Supervise safety program implementation and ensure high standards and accountability.
6. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with relevant experience.
• Project management experience from design to operation, including contract negotiations.
• Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities preferred.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently across Europe.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or related STEM field.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines, including automation and robotics.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Experience with Amazon FC launches is a plus.
• Languages such as French, Polish, Arabic are advantageous.

Each day, you will lead and mentor teams, manage contracts, conduct site and risk assessments, and ensure project feasibility and success, communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.
