As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team (D&C) within Amazon Global Engineering Services (GESS), shaping the future of the Construction Industry. We focus on pushing boundaries, driving innovative, standardized, and scalable solutions to deliver high-quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs, with safety, people, and sustainability at the core.

The role offers opportunities to travel and work across multiple countries and cultures, with 30% travel within Europe and EMEA.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Controlling project scope, driving decisions, clearing blockers, and escalating issues as needed.
3. Communicating effectively, weighing risks, influencing results, and overseeing professional service providers.
4. Performing pricing reviews, negotiating costs, estimating project costs, managing due diligence, scheduling, and forecasting.
5. Supervising safety programs and standards, driving accountability, and negotiating with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with proven experience in project management.
• Experience in design, implementation, and operation of projects, including negotiations and contracts.
• Experience with packaging processing/logistics facilities or similar.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently within Europe.

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering, operations, supply chain, or related STEM field.
• Experience across multiple construction disciplines, including automation and robotics.
• Strong influencing, negotiating, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Previous participation in Amazon FC launches is a plus.
• Languages like French, Polish, Arabic are advantageous.

Each day, you will ensure on-time, within-budget project execution, lead and mentor teams, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Your tasks include site validation, due diligence, design management, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management, acting as the primary escalation point for project issues.
