As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will join the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, shaping the future of the construction industry by delivering high-quality buildings with a focus on safety, sustainability, and innovation.
The role offers travel opportunities across Europe and EMEA, with approximately 30% travel required.
Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design completion, permits, and contract execution.
2. Controlling project scope, driving decisions, and resolving blockers.
3. Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive results.
4. Overseeing service providers to ensure skill and competency requirements are met.
5. Performing pricing reviews, negotiations, and cost estimations.
6. Managing due diligence, scheduling, forecasting, and ensuring project hand-over success.
7. Supervising safety program implementation and standards adherence.
8. Negotiating with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven project management experience from design to operation.
• Experience with packaging processing/logistical facilities preferred.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon's FC launches.
• Additional language skills (French, Polish, Arabic) are a plus.

A day in the life:

You will oversee the timely and within-budget execution of Amazon construction projects, lead cross-functional teams, communicate with senior management, and negotiate contracts. Daily tasks include site validation, risk analysis, design management, and stakeholder engagement. You will ensure compliance with zoning, fire, and building codes, and act as a primary escalation point for project issues.
