As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, focusing on delivering high-quality buildings while prioritizing safety, sustainability, and people.

The role offers opportunities to travel across Europe, with approximately 30% of your time spent traveling domestically or internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, and resolve blockers to ensure timely progress.
3. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, communicate effectively, and influence outcomes.
4. Oversee professional service providers to meet project and property requirements.
5. Conduct pricing reviews, negotiate costs with contractors and consultants.
6. Estimate costs, manage due diligence, track schedules, and forecast project timelines.
7. Supervise the implementation of Amazon's safety standards.
8. Drive accountability and high standards among team members.
9. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with relevant experience.
• Experience managing projects from design to operation, including contracts negotiation.
• Experience with packaging processing/logistics facilities or similar industries.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, or related STEM fields.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon's new FC launches.
• Additional language skills such as French, Polish, or Arabic are a plus.

Daily responsibilities include managing construction projects, stakeholder communication, contract negotiations, site validation, risk analysis, and ensuring compliance with local codes. You will lead and mentor teams, motivate staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for project issues.
