As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, aiming to shape the future of the construction industry. We focus on innovative, standardized, and scalable solutions to deliver high-quality buildings while prioritizing safety, people, and sustainability.

This role offers opportunities to travel across Europe and EMEA countries, with approximately 30% travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, clear blockers, and escalate issues appropriately.
3. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, influence outcomes, and manage service providers.
4. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and oversee project budgeting and forecasting.
5. Supervise safety program implementation and ensure high standards of accountability.
6. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience in project management from design to operation, including contract negotiations.
• Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, or related STEM fields.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon's FC launches is preferred.
• Additional languages such as French, Polish, or Arabic are advantageous.

A Day in the Life:

You will oversee Amazon's construction projects, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Your daily tasks include site validation, due diligence, design management, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential to succeed in this role.
