As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, shaping the future of the Construction Industry. Our team pushes the boundaries of possibility, delivering high-quality buildings focused on safety, people, and sustainability.

Would you like the opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures? The role is based anywhere in Europe with 30% travel within EMEA countries.

Key job responsibilities

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, clear blockers, and escalate issues as needed.
3. Communicate effectively with internal/external teams, weigh risks, and influence results.
4. Oversee professional service providers to ensure skills and competencies meet project needs.
5. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs with developers, contractors, and consultants.
6. Estimate costs, manage due diligences, track schedules, and forecast project outcomes.
7. Supervise the implementation of Amazon's safety programs and standards.
8. Insist on high standards and drive accountability.
9. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with demonstrable experience.
• Project management experience from design to operation, including negotiation of contracts.
• Experience with packaging processing/logistical facilities preferred.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Europe.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines and managing multi-disciplinary design projects.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Experience with Amazon's FC launches preferred.
• Additional language skills such as French, Polish, Arabic are a plus.

Each day, you will represent Amazon and the Design & Construction GESS team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while improving processes, costs, quality, safety, and sustainability. You will lead and mentor teams, communicate across departments, and negotiate terms with stakeholders.
