As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within AMZ Global Engineering services, shaping the future of the Construction Industry. We focus on safety, people, and sustainability, delivering high-quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs.

The role offers opportunities to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures, with about 30% travel within Europe and to other EMEA countries.

Key job responsibilities

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, identify and resolve blockers, and escalate issues when necessary.
3. Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, influence results, and manage risks.
4. Oversee professional service providers to ensure skills meet project needs.
5. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs with developers, contractors, and consultants.
6. Estimate costs, manage due diligence, track schedules, and forecast project outcomes.
7. Supervise the implementation of Amazon's safety programs and standards.
8. Maintain high standards and drive accountability.
9. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience managing projects from design to operation, including negotiations.
• Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities or similar.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently within Europe, up to 30%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or STEM.
• Experience across multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon FC launches.
• Additional languages like French, Polish, Arabic are preferred.

Each day, you will ensure the timely and budget-friendly execution of Amazon construction projects, lead and mentor teams, communicate across departments, and negotiate project terms. Your tasks include site validation, due diligence, design management, contract negotiations, stakeholder management, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. You will be the primary escalation point for project feasibility and issues, using your influence to resolve them effectively.
