Job Description:

As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, aiming to shape the future of the construction industry. We prioritize safety, people, and sustainability in our work.

This role offers opportunities to travel and work across multiple countries and cultures, with approximately 30% travel within Europe and to other EMEA countries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
• Control project scope, drive decisions, identify blockers, and escalate issues as needed.
• Communicate effectively, assess risks, influence outcomes, and oversee service providers.
• Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and manage project estimates, schedules, and forecasts.
• Supervise safety program implementation and ensure high standards and accountability.
• Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with relevant experience.
• Project management experience from design to operation, including contract negotiations.
• Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities or similar.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel frequently across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon's FC launches.
• Additional language skills (French, Polish, Arabic) are a plus.

A Day in the Life:

You will oversee Amazon's construction projects, lead cross-functional teams, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Your tasks will include site validation, due diligence, design management, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance. You will serve as the primary escalation point and ensure project issues are addressed and resolved effectively.
