As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will join the Design and Construction team within AMZ Global Engineering Services (GESS), aiming to shape the future of the construction industry. We focus on pushing boundaries, driving innovation, standardization, and scalability to deliver high-quality buildings that meet customer needs, prioritizing safety, people, and sustainability.

This role offers opportunities to travel and work across multiple countries and cultures, with approximately 30% travel within Europe and to other EMEA countries. The position can be based anywhere in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Maintain scope control, drive progress, and resolve blockers efficiently.
3. Communicate effectively, assess risks, and influence outcomes.
4. Oversee professional service providers to ensure skill and competency requirements are met.
5. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs with developers, contractors, and consultants.
6. Estimate costs, manage due diligence, schedule tracking, and forecasting to ensure successful project hand-over.
7. Supervise the implementation of Amazon's safety programs and standards.
8. Drive accountability and high standards among team members.
9. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with proven experience in project management.
• Experience managing projects from design to operation, including negotiations and contract management.
• Experience in packaging processing or logistics facilities preferred.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Europe (up to 30%).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines.
• Knowledge of BIM and experience with new Amazon FC launches.
• Additional language skills (French, Polish, Arabic) are advantageous.

A Day in the Life:

You will oversee Amazon's construction projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution, while improving processes, costs, quality, safety, and sustainability. Leading cross-functional teams, you will communicate effectively across levels, negotiate contracts, and manage project issues and risks.
