MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The German Reviewer ensures the high quality of linguistic content in German at an account level. This role involves writing and reviewing content to guarantee accuracy for multimedia platforms. The reviewer will act as a cultural ambassador, producing localized content and identifying cultural issues to ensure relevance for target markets. Candidates should have a background in journalism or similar, with creative writing skills, attention to detail, and an interest in music, film, tech, and Apple devices.

MAIN DUTIES

Responsibilities include:

1. Localizing, translating, and adapting multimedia content across various categories while following style guides.
2. Creating new content for multimedia products like music, TV, apps, and games.
3. Reviewing linguistic accuracy of own and team members' work.
4. Copy-editing and fact-checking content.
5. Performing localization QA on live content.
6. Researching market-specific content trends and localization practices.
7. Transcribing spoken content such as lyrics.
8. Reporting on media assets and content data.
9. Creating training materials and ensuring team training on terminology and style.
10. Collaborating with global teams via virtual meetings and emails to ensure consistency and market insights.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS/BA with 2+ years in journalism, copywriting, or media content editing, with writing samples.
• Experience in multimedia translation and localization.
• Strong ability to identify issues and inconsistencies in large content volumes.
• Wide knowledge of music, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
• Ability to make confident linguistic decisions for the German language market.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking and deadline skills.
• Native German speaker and fluent in English.
• Good computer skills; knowledge of iOS/macOS is a plus.
• Capable of typing accurately in native language using an English keyboard.
• Independent and remote work capability.
• Team-oriented and culturally adaptable.
