Job Description:

Snapshot:

The Legal Counsel will assist the Head of Legal EMEA & APAC in supporting internal clients and external stakeholders on legal matters. The role provides legal advice, counsel, and support to the organization and collaborates with US colleagues. The position can be based in any EMEA location with occasional travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have knowledge and experience of local commercial laws.
  • Review and negotiate IT/SaaS commercial contracts and service level agreements, including vendor contracts.
  • Conduct research on legal topics and provide legal advice as needed.
  • Assist in developing legal templates and best practices.
  • Engage with legal counterparts of vendors and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with agreement terms, company policies, and guidelines.

  • Prepare contract documents; advise sales on contractual rights and obligations; mitigate risks; analyze data; maintain records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and clients.

  • Balance competing priorities effectively.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Law degree with 2-4 years PQE, including experience in IT law, Privacy Law, and general contracting law.
  • Admitted to the local Bar with a current license to practice law.
  • Experience in contract negotiations, assessing, and drafting service agreements, NDAs, and commercial documents.
  • Knowledge of legal issues affecting software companies globally, such as data privacy, Cloud and SaaS, AI, and IP protection.
  • Experience in both private practice and in-house roles at technology companies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
