At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.
Cadence’s Genus Synthesis Solution is a product that takes a high-level description of a microchip – such as expressions like “x = (a + b) × (a – b)” or “y = c + (s ? d – e : 0)” – and synthesizes all the necessary gates (NAND, NOR, XOR, etc.) to build the circuit. Since multiple circuits can achieve the same result, Genus aims to find solutions that optimize for clock speed, chip size, and power consumption based on user requirements.
The algorithms owned by the Genus Datapath Optimization Team operate directly on fundamental operators like adders, multipliers, and muxes. For example, replacing “x = (a + b) × (a – b)” with “x = a² – b²” can be a more efficient architectural optimization. Making such optimizations early in the design flow can significantly impact the quality of results, often more than subsequent gate-level optimizations. This presents a huge opportunity for innovation and delivering value to customers.
We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our R&D team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting the Genus software product. The team is based in Cambridge, UK, but collaborates with colleagues worldwide.
Join our experienced team of outstanding software developers and help us solve challenging problems!
