JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for leading the organization’s strategic direction and financial performance within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) for the Neuromodulation division. Oversee sales operations and regional marketing execution to drive growth and market success. Ensure business activities align with corporate policies while adhering to local legal, regulatory, and cultural standards. Collaborate closely with finance, regulatory/quality, clinical, HR, communications, legal, and IT teams to support seamless operations and strategic objectives.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGY

  1. Develops the geographic growth vision and overall strategy, ensures alignment of all country plans.
  2. Develops aggressive business plans that foster growth, speed to market, and profitability.
  3. Develops strategies in response to market dynamics, risks, and opportunities.
  4. Responsible for building an excellent organization that promotes innovation and organizational effectiveness.

P&L

  1. Actively manages geographic P&L in order to adapt quickly to evolving business requirements.
  2. Controls costs within annual operation expense plans and makes appropriate business case for further investment as required.
  3. Monitors, controls cash flow, and inventory levels as planned.
  4. Approves performance targets and determines the level of support required to achieve the annual targets.

COMPLIANCE

  1. Builds a compliance culture ensuring that all managers and specialists are aware of and comply with statutory or regulatory responsibilities.
  2. Ensures company policies and procedures are followed at all times.

MARKET TRENDS

  1. Keeps abreast of market and emerging technical trends in all relevant therapies.
  2. Builds networks with subject matter experts to inspire innovative ways to grow the business.

  1. Sells the vision of sustainable business growth to all stakeholders in the region by showing value to them and the business.

SUPERVISORY / MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develops a high performing, talented commercial organization that fosters engagement, effectiveness, and talent development.
  2. Reports directly to the International Head & General Manager Neuromodulation OUS.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE

  1. Regularly interacts with other members of OUS GM’s staff, key external customers and other stakeholders, regulatory and other government agencies, Abbott leadership around the globe, and commercial heads of other Abbott divisions.
  2. Responsible for the commercialization of the full portfolio of products and services.

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Education and experience

  1. University degree or equivalent in business and/or medical field.
  2. Ten years of experience in medical device, preferably class 3.
  3. Experience in German market and with German reimbursement system.
  4. Must have either sales and/or marketing leadership experience.
  5. Strong leadership skills with strategic thinking ability.
  6. Demonstrated experience in building high performance teams and managing multi-disciplinary organizations.
  7. Cross cultural and cross functional sensitivity.
  8. Proven record of accomplishment in meeting/exceeding revenue goals.
  9. Outstanding verbal and written communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
