Job Type: Full Time

The General & Heavy Equipment Mechanic will perform activities and oversee personnel engaged in the full range of general & heavy track equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent qualification in relevant fields.
• Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of equipment/vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
• Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High sense of responsibility; operate in compliance with regulations and rules.
• Ability to complete various forms and records, including requisitions, repair, and servicing forms.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• First aid certification may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair vehicles, machinery, and trucks (Light & Heavy).
• Maintain yard/field equipment (forklifts, cranes, service trucks, welders, trailers, generators, etc.).
• Oversee maintenance inspections, monitor inventory, assemble mechanical components, and perform repairs.
• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and vehicles.
• Meet with clients to understand their concerns and identify issues.
• Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
• Design a plan of action for maintenance tasks and upgrades.
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
• Monitor inventory and order parts as needed.
• Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures.
• Perform vehicle assessments and advise clients on issues affecting inspections.
