Responsibilities

• Support departments in the area of functional safety and ensure compliance with IEC 61508
• Coordinate external auditors and testing institutes (TÜV, etc.)
• Ensure the norm-compliant implementation of safety functions, safety circuits, and PLT protection devices within FSM
• Create verification and validation documentation for functional safety, SIL / PL calculations
• Act as an internal and external expert and contact for functional safety topics, liaising with notified bodies and surveillance authorities
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to design safety functions and perform failure probability calculations

Qualifications

• Solid technical education in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, plant engineering, or similar
• Ideally, training or certification as a Functional Safety Engineer
• Knowledge of relevant standards like IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
• Understanding of machinery directives/pressure vessel directives
• Experience with software tools such as Sistema
• Excellent German and English skills
• Team-oriented, open, proactive, and communicative
