Then join us in the Professional Practices area of the Internal Audit Function and become a valued member of our Internal Audit Team based in Munich or Frankfurt.

Functional Enablement is a dedicated team of three colleagues within the Internal Audit function, supporting the delivery of high-quality, consistent and risk-focused assurance work, improving processes to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness with which assurance work is executed, driving audit skills training and contributing to audit methodology and culture. Reporting to the Global Head of Internal Audit, Functional Enablement supports the audit team by planning, monitoring, reporting, and controlling of audit activities, in cooperation with the Audit Management Team members and other Allianz functions. Functional Enablement provides an integrated organizational framework for the Internal Audit function across all regions. This includes identification of business / industry and regulatory developments, driving related changes within the global IA team, and continuously improving consistent application of standards and methodology.

What you will do

Strategy and Planning

  • Methodology and Framework : Ensure that statutory, regulatory, Allianz Group requirements as well as industry developments and best practices relevant to the internal audit function are properly implemented, including audit methodology updates.
  • Risk Assessment and Audit Planning : Coordinate, facilitate and challenge the yearly planning process of AllianzAM Internal Audit, support the development of the annual internal audit plan as well as the long-term planning to ensure adequate coverage of risks.
  • Projects : Develop, plan, and implement projects for the Global Head of Internal Audit, also in co-operation with other AllianzAM Internal Audit teams.
  • Governance : Managing the cost Allocation process for Internal audit services provided to the AllianzAM Group as well as maintenance and updates of respective Service Level Agreements; Stay up to date on Governance matters and requirements from Allianz Group and subsequently drive the implementation within Internal Audit function of AllianzAM (e.g. System of Governance, Entity Level Controls).

Quality and Process Management

  • Reporting : Ensure efficient and client-oriented internal and external audit activity reporting in form and substance for Executive Boards, Committees, regulators and for all periodic department reporting.
  • Quality Checks : Support and challenge auditors in ensuring sound, comprehensive and consistent audit result documentation based on AllianzAM’s internal audit standards and work programs; maintain an elevated standard of audit reports with regards to content and form.
  • Audit Process : Provide support to auditors on the audit workflow tool (TeamMate+) and on the issuance of key assignment deliverables (assignment letters, audit reports etc.) and perform Data Quality checks to ensure the quality and consistency of the data.
  • Self-Assessment : Conduct the annual IA self-assessments against key regulatory and industry standards and make process, practice and methodology improvements.
  • Follow-up Reporting : Track internal audit findings and recommendations for closure status, to ensure submissions are on target to meet closure date. Analyze past due internal recommendations, escalating where appropriate to ensure resolution to critical items.
  • Controlling : Assist in the production and monitoring of Professional Practices Dashboards (e.g. audit plan progress, timely input in TeamMate+, internal Key Performance Indicators “KPIs” impacting the audit function, audit trainings etc.).

Relationship Management

  • Interact with external auditors and report on audit activities to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Executive Boards, Committees ).
  • Establish and maintain professional connections with internal audit functional enablement teams and team members globally.
  • Provide and / or arrange with Subject Matters Experts technical and audit methodology training to auditors, including tailored training as needed.
  • Liaise with Allianz Group Audit, other Allianz Group functions, and AllianzAM Group functions and support an open and constructive work environment.

What you bring

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in internal / external audit.
  • Several years’ experience in regulated financial services environment ( Banking , insurance, asset management, IT, risk management or similar) with interactions with regulators and / or external auditors.
  • University degree in economics, business administration or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of audit methodology and of IIA Standards. Audit certification (CIA, CFA, CISA or similar) is an advantage.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, German is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a global context, liaise with audit teams and adapt to new situations and approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal responsibly with all levels of management and staff.
  • Positive attitude towards achieving results for the team, progressive thinking skills, strong work ethic, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Quick understanding and acting on complex situations / tasks assigned in a high pace organization.
  • Solid working knowledge of core Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point.
  • Business know-how within other functions, regions and entities of Allianz Group preferred.
