Jobbeschreibung

The Mission

Munich-based OroraTech is developing a constellation of nanosatellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection, infrastructure monitoring and many other applications.

Our all-in-one wildfire solution is designed to quickly detect thermal hotspots on a global scale. It provides reliable data fused from multiple satellite sources and wildfire detection algorithms. By providing monitoring and notification services for areas at risk, we help both public and private sector customers to protect forests and biodiversity.

With our own satellite constellation (OTC-P1 launched in March) we aim to expand our Core Application Team responsible for developing and maintaining the data platform. By joining us you’ll have a direct impact on our users who are fighting climate change every day.

What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Core Application Team at OroraTech you will:

  • Design and maintain scalable web services in Go/Python and engaging UIs in Vue.js

  • Collaborate with product, data-science, and design colleagues to build and improve our satellite-driven wildfire intelligence platform

  • Champion clean code and continuous delivery in a supportive code-review culture

  • Solve numerous technical challenges, troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and system bottlenecks

  • Share knowledge, mentor peers, and learn from a diverse, international team

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our platform remains competitive and cutting-edge

Relevant Skills

We expect that you bring the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with HTML, Tailwind CSS, Typescript/Javascript (ES6+), and reactive web frameworks (Vue.js, React, or similar)

  • Experience with SQL and server-side development (Go, Python, Node, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of web architectures, RESTful APIs and database design

  • Comfort working with Git in an agile environment

  • Good communication skills: Fluent English skills, German is a plus

NICE TO HAVE

We also highly appreciate and foster the following skills:

  • Experience with geospatial data and spatial databases (PostGIS or similar)

  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and application monitoring technologies

  • Expertise with CI/CD processes and technologies (Gitlab, Jenkins, or similar)

  • Familiarity with basic DevOps technologies and concepts

  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and design processes

  • Open-source contributions

If you’re unsure you tick every box, apply anyway—we hire for potential.

Our Benefits
