Full S-Professor (W3) in “Explainable AI”
at Humboldt-Unversität zu Berlin in combination with the position of a
Head of Research Unit “Explainable AI”
at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute.
The position will be filled at the earliest possible date.
We are looking for a researcher with an excellent track record in methods, models and algorithms for explainable and trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI). Applicants could have a strong background in the foundations of explainable AI or a focus on systems-related aspects and applications. Specific topics of interest include, for example:
The position includes teaching, with a reduced load, at the Department of Computer Science in the relevant study programs.
In addition to scientific excellence, applicants should have experience in leading a research group, international collaborations, managing scientific projects, and acquiring third-party funding. Strong teaching skills are highly important. Candidates are expected to participate in cooperative research initiatives, for instance, as part of Research Training Groups, Collaborative Research Centers, or centers such as BIFOLD.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the “Berliner Hochschulgesetz”.
