The University of Bayreuth is a research-oriented university with internationally competitive, interdisciplinary focus areas in research and teaching. The Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a

Full Professor of Business Administration with a Focus on Management Accounting (Controlling)

at salary grade W3 to commence in summer semester 2026. This is a permanent civil service position.

Applicants should have an excellent academic research record with relevant publications in high-ranking international and national journals and demonstrate a committed approach to academic teaching. A distinctive research profile is expected, in which issues of strategic controlling and value-based management are analysed on an economic, theoretical and/or empirical basis. The chair participates in business administration teaching and represents the focus on controlling in all business administration degree programmes as well as in the so-called Bayreuth WP option in accordance with

• 13b WPO. The willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching as well as academic self-governance, in management and in the further development of study programmes is particularly desirable. This includes cooperation with the Business Research Centre for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (BF/M) and, if applicable, other institutes and the interdisciplinary research units of the faculty; as well as participation in the doctoral programme and interdisciplinary cooperation in teaching, especially in the business administration focus areas FACT (Finance, Accounting, Controlling & Taxation) and Management. A track record in acquiring external funding would be an advantage.
