Job summary

YER Germany is seeking an FPGA Engineer to design, develop and validate FPGA solutions for aerospace projects. You will work on VHDL-based implementations, timing optimizations, and collaborative integration with systems, hardware and software teams in a safety-critical domain.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, hands-on FPGA experience, strong VHDL skills, and professional English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in FPGA design, VHDL development, and digital hardware architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA simulation, verification, debugging, and testbench development.
  • Experience in aerospace, defence, or safety-critical embedded hardware is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, proactive mindset and professional English.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL for aerospace and defence.
  • Perform FPGA architecture design, simulation, verification, debugging, and testbench development.
  • Analyze requirements, optimize timing, resources, and FPGA performance.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and verification engineers through lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with DO-254, RTCA, ESA and other safety-critical standards, incl. docs.

  • Design, develop, and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL for aerospace and defence applications
  • Perform FPGA architecture design, simulation, verification, debugging, and testbench development to ensure reliable hardware performance
  • Analyze system requirements and optimize timing closure, resource utilization, and FPGA performance
  • Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, software, and verification engineers throughout the development and integration lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with DO-254, RTCA, ESA, and other safety-critical aerospace standards, including technical documentation and hardware validation

Your Profile

  • Experience in aerospace, defence, or other safety-critical embedded hardware environments is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive and collaborative mindset, and professional English proficiency
  • Willingness to work on-site is required
