PHYTRONIC GmbH in Dresden is seeking an FPGA Developer (m/f/d) in Communications Engineering to design and program algorithms for software-defined radios and implement them primarily in Xilinx FPGAs. You will contribute to transmitter/receiver architecture and optimize algorithms for energy, memory and logic size.

You will work with our software team from idea to series production, ensure code quality and maintainability, and apply your knowledge of SystemVerilog and VHDL, AXI/Ethernet/PCIe/SPI,

Qualifikationen

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or comparable field.
• Experience with FPGA programming using SystemVerilog and VHDL.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as AXI, Ethernet, PCIe and SPI.
• Basic scripting knowledge in TCL and Make.
• Experience with Xilinx tools Vivado and Vitis, and co-simulation with CocoTb or Riviera Pro.
• Desirable fundamentals in software-defined radios, RF or antenna topics.
• German and English skills; strong teamwork and problem solving.

Your Role

• You will design and program algorithms for software-defined radios and implement them primarily in Xilinx FPGAs
• You will design and expand concepts for transmitter/receiver architecture
• You will optimise algorithms in terms of energy consumption, memory and logic size
• You will be responsible for sub-projects, including the creation of work packages and the estimation of time and resources
• You will independently carry out functional and hardware tests, including error analysis and troubleshooting
• Together with our software development team, you will accompany an assembly from the initial idea to series production
• With your technical knowledge, you will drive forward topics such as code quality, maintainability and (execution) performance

Your Profile

• You have successfully completed a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or a comparable field of study
• You have knowledge or practical experience in FPGA programming with SystemVerilog and VHDL
• You have initial experience with communication protocols such as AXI, Ethernet, PCIe and SPI
• You also have basic knowledge of the scripting languages TCL and Make
• You have experience with the development tools Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx Vitis, co-simulation with Aldec Riviera Pro and CocoTb or similar
• At least a basic knowledge of software-defined radios, communications engineering, high-frequency or antenna technology is desirable/additionally advantageous
• You describe yourself as a team player, are reliable and always on the lookout for exciting challenges
• A structured and independent way of working as well as very good German and good English skills round off your profile
