Kuro is building the intelligence layer for construction and is hiring a Founding Recruiter in Berlin to scale our hiring engine from scratch.

You’ll partner with the founders to hire entrepreneurs and AI talent, shape interview processes, and craft an exceptional candidate experience that reflects Kuro’s pace, quality and kindness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience recruiting for technical roles (software, data, AI/ML).

About the role

The OpportunityAs our Founding Recruiter you’ll partner directly with the founders (Lea and Jonas) to hire entrepreneurial, product-minded engineers, AI talent, and exceptional business operators. You’ll create clarity and process where none exists yet, ensuring every candidate feels the pace, quality, ambition, and kindness that define how we build Kuro.We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built so far - a group of smart, humble, and driven individuals. Among our first four full-time hires are three former CTOs. As Kuro enters its next growth chapter, we’re looking for someone who has been part of a scaling journey in a tech company and brings exceptional taste in talent - someone who knows what “great” looks like and how to attract it.We believe talent is the core function to get right that's why we want to invest into someone to build this from the early days!

Your responsibilities:

• Partner with founders to define hiring plans, role priorities, and ideal profiles based on business needs
• Own full-cycle recruiting for all roles - from AI, data, and full-stack engineering to sales, customer success, and design
• Build and maintain strong, diverse candidate pipelines using creative sourcing strategies
• Shape and continuously refine Kuro’s interview process — from messaging and scorecards to metrics and feedback loops
• Collaborate with the team to deliver an exceptional candidate experience so that every touchpoint reflects Kuro’s culture of curiosity, quality, and empathy

Your Profile

• Have 2+ years of experience recruiting for technical roles (software, data, AI/ML) and are excited to also hire for business roles (sales, operations, customer success)
• Have recruited across senior and mid-level levels in startup or growth-stage environments
• Know how to build pipelines from scratch and manage multiple roles in parallel
• Have a great eye for talent and a proven track record of delivering high-quality hires fast
• Care deeply about candidate experience, storytelling, and brand
• Thrive in 0 1 environments — structured enough to deliver quality, but fast-moving and pragmatic
• Are fluent in English (German is a plus)
• Are based in Berlin or willing to relocate

• Intro Call — Intro, logistics & fit with Lea (20 min)
• Second Call — Deep dive into the impact of your previous work (30 min)
• Challenge — A time-boxed business challenge (4 hours)
• Challenge review and deep dive (60 minutes)
• On-site Day — Meet the team and lunch/dinner
• Decision
