Ai Futures, Berlin, seeks a Founding Engineer to join an ambitious early-stage AI startup. Build the core product from scratch, own features end-to-end, and influence technology and product as the company scales.

Work directly with the founders on strategy, architecture and production systems. Competitive salary plus meaningful equity, with rapid impact and ownership in a 0→1 opportunity.

Formación

• Strong software and AI engineering background with production-grade experience.
• Evidence of shipping production software and end-to-end ownership.
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI or Agentic AI is highly desirable.
• Solid backend engineering and system-architecture fundamentals.
• Product-minded and commercially aware, not just technical execution.

Founding Engineer | Early-Stage AI Startup

AI Futures has been exclusively retained to hire a Founding Engineer for an ambitious, well-funded AI startup at the earliest stages of building its product and technical team.

This is a genuine 0→1 opportunity for an entrepreneurial engineer who wants to work directly with the founders, build the core product from scratch and have meaningful influence over the technology, product and company as it scales.

Remuneration: Competitive salary + meaningful equity

The Role

• Build the company's core product from 0→1
• Own features end-to-end from initial idea through architecture, implementation and production
• Build and scale AI-native applications and intelligent workflows
• Make foundational decisions around architecture, infrastructure and engineering standards
• Rapidly prototype, ship and iterate based on real customer feedback
• Work directly with the founders on product and technical strategy
• Operate across backend, AI and product engineering where required
• Help establish the engineering culture and technical foundations
• Play a key role in building the wider engineering team as the company scales

The Candidate

• Strong Software Engineering / AI Engineering background
• Proven experience building and shipping production software
• Strong 0→1 builder mindset with evidence of taking products from idea to production
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI or Agentic AI highly desirable
• Strong backend engineering and system architecture fundamentals
• Product-minded and commercially aware, not purely focused on technical implementation
• Comfortable making decisions and shipping quickly without an established playbook
• High ownership, entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity
• Startup, founding engineer, pre-seed or seed-stage experience highly desirable
• Motivated by the opportunity to join early, take genuine responsibility and participate in the upside
