Job summary

Stott and May Inc. is seeking a Founding Full-Stack AI Engineer in Munich (Hybrid) to build an autonomous AI project management platform for construction.

You will own features from idea to production, shape architecture, and work closely with the founding team to solve real customer problems. You will contribute across the stack, integrating AI workflows, and shipping production-ready software with a modern TypeScript/React stack and LLM tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong TypeScript and React experience building production applications.
• Track record of delivering end-to-end software with solid architecture and debugging.
• Experience building LLM powered features, agentic workflows or tool calling is a plus.
• Comfortable in a small team with evolving priorities and real ownership.
• Excellent English communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end features across a modern TypeScript codebase including frontend and backend.
• Develop AI-powered workflows using LLMs and AI tooling to automate project workflows.
• Work across the stack: frontend architecture, APIs, data models, backend functionality.
• Improve AI reliability, observability and real-world usefulness.

Founding Full-Stack AI Engineer
Munich (Hybrid)

About

We’re partnering with an early stage, VC backed AI startup building an autonomous AI project management platform for the construction industry. The company is tackling complex, real world workflows through AI, helping teams automate project coordination and reduce the administrative burden associated with delivering construction projects.

This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious engineering team at an early stage, take meaningful ownership of the product, and help shape how AI is applied to complex industry workflows

Responsibilities

• Build and ship product features: Develop end to end functionality across a modern TypeScript codebase, from user facing interfaces through to backend services and integrations.
• Develop AI powered workflows: Build intelligent features using LLMs, AI agents and modern AI tooling to automate complex, real world project workflows.
• Work across the stack: Contribute to frontend architecture, APIs, data models and backend functionality, taking ownership from initial concept through to production.
• Improve AI reliability: Help make AI powered functionality dependable, observable and useful in real world environments, rather than simply building prototypes.
• Shape the technical direction: Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering standards and product strategy as the company scales.
• Work directly with the founders: Collaborate closely with the founding team to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and translate customer problems into technical solutions.

Experience

• TypeScript and React: Strong, recent professional experience building and shipping production applications.
• Product engineering: A track record of delivering working software end to end, underpinned by solid architecture, API, data modelling and debugging skills.
• AI engineering: Experience building LLM powered features, ideally agentic workflows, tool calling or multi step orchestration shipped into production. RAG, embeddings, evaluation and the Vercel AI SDK are a bonus.
• Ownership and adaptability: Comfortable in a small team where priorities evolve quickly and engineers carry real responsibility.
• Communication: Strong English and the ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Environment

The product is built around a modern TypeScript ecosystem, including:

Experience with this exact stack is beneficial, but strong underlying engineering ability and the capacity to learn quickly are equally important.
