What we do
Pina Earth enables forest owners to access carbon markets the easy way. We build software that automatically assesses forests and simulates its future development to allow us to quantify carbon stock changes over time. Forest owners can store additional carbon in their forests by adopting sustainable forest management practices. Each additional ton of carbon stored generates a "carbon credit". By investing in forest carbon projects, companies contribute to climate protection. Through the sale of carbon credits, forest owners benefit from a recurring income that is reinvested to create diverse, climate-resilient forests.

About the opportunity
As a Founder's Associate you think and act like a founder yourself. As one of the first full-time team members, we’re setting the foundation for success of Pina together. You work directly with Pina’s founders - in particular our CEO Gesa.
The role gives you a comprehensive insight into diverse areas of our startup - from HR to Operations, Business Development/Sales and Fundraising. One of your first key areas of responsibility will be people and operations, allowing you to shape central processes, be the glue in our core team, and set up our organization for scaling. As our startup grows, your responsibilties can evolve to include other areas and/or shift in focus to build on your strengths. Here’s your chance to be part of a visionary journey and shape the future of European forests together.
Your responsibilities
You think and act like a founder: You will get responsibility from day one for a variety of operational and strategic initiatives. You act as an in-house consultant and work directly with the founders to uncover needs and bottlenecks. All projects will have a critical impact on our company and directly relate to our mission of creating climate-resilient forest.
Enable team growth: This includes establishing the Pina brand to attract talent, defining staffing needs with the founders, and managing the candidate lifecyle from first interview to onboarding. Throughout this, you reflect our mission and get people excited to join Pina.
Own our operations: You are in charge of our operations (finance, legal, HR, office) and make our office a place people love to work at. You continuously strive to improve the efficiency and quality of our operations by e.g. implementing new tools or automating tasks.
Establish our company culture: You plan unforgettable team events to keep the fantastic team spirit at Pina, own strategic initiatives to increase employee engagement and diversity, and run retrospectives to get feedback on how we can continuously improve.
What you need to succeed
You love a fast-paced environment with many projects and can prioritise tasks yourself
You are a quick learner, pragmatic and creative on how to solve problems
You are a great communicator, optimistic and team-oriented
You are fluent in both, German and English
You have a validworking permitin Germany (or the EU)
You would like to work onsite in our office in the ofMunich, Germany (@Stachus)
