Bayshore is seeking a Forward Deployed Product Engineer to turn customer problems into working software, directly engaging with enterprise customers, Legal Engineers, and founders. You will drive solutions from initial conversations through to delivery, writing code for features, integrations, demos, and fixes that unlock customer value.
The role emphasizes ownership, rapid prototyping, and ongoing iteration, with an emphasis on using coding agents effectively and delivering under pressure.
Bayshore builds a multi-agent compliance automation platform for enterprises. Our AI agents gather evidence, coordinate stakeholders, and drive complex reviews from intake to an auditable decision. At the core sits our legal reasoning engine, which turns legal rules and company policies into traceable, executable logic.
We work with some of the world's largest organizations, including DAX-listed and Fortune 500 companies. We're backed by Earlybird, one of Europe's leading inception funds, and are assembling an exceptional team to shape how regulated enterprises adopt AI at scale.
We are 15 people across engineering, legal, and commercial, with backgrounds from Germany, Colombia, India, and Turkey. Before Bayshore, we gained work experience at RobCo, Google, BCG, and Freshfields. We work from a large loft office in Munich, close to the main station, where we also host our own events for the tech and legal tech community.
As our Forward Deployed Product Engineer, you turn customer problems into working software—and help decide what our platform becomes. You work directly with enterprise customers, our Legal Engineers, and the founders to understand what matters, build solutions quickly, and turn what you learn into better product.
Our Legal Engineers bring legal expertise and translate customers’ policies and processes into workflows configured on Bayshore. When configuration reaches its limits, you take engineering ownership. You write the code: features, integrations, demos, and fixes that unlock value for the customer.
The work moves quickly. A customer conversation can become a prototype that afternoon. A deployment can surface an unfamiliar problem that you need to investigate and solve. You’ll make decisions with incomplete information, change direction as you learn, and stay close to the problem until the solution works. Alongside our platform engineers, you turn successful implementations into reliable, reusable capabilities.
This requires flexibility and intensity. There will be moments when a critical deployment or customer deadline calls for a late night, potentially working through the night to get something over the line. You need to stay resourceful under pressure, know what to prioritize, and take responsibility for the outcome.
If you want to become a founder yourself, this role gives you daily practice in the skills you’ll need: discovering customer problems, deciding what to build, shipping under uncertainty, earning trust, and owning the result. You’ll work alongside founders and see how product, engineering, and commercial decisions connect—with real customers and real stakes.
Understand the Problem
Work directly with customers and Legal Engineers to understand workflows, constraints, and requirements
Ask questions that uncover the underlying need and challenge assumptions when a simpler solution would work
Decide where configuration is sufficient, where a prototype can answer a question, and where the platform needs new capabilities
Explain technical possibilities and tradeoffs clearly to nontechnical stakeholders
Build and Deliver
Build and ship features, integrations, and fixes directly in the Bayshore platform
Create compelling demos and prototypes, put them in front of customers, and iterate quickly on feedback
Debug platform edge cases and resolve issues blocking customer deployments
Use agentic coding tools to shorten the path from idea to working software
Own delivery from the first conversation through implementation, testing, release, and customer feedback
Shape the Core Product
Identify patterns across customer projects and turn recurring needs into reusable platform capabilities
Bring evidence from customer work into product and prioritization decisions
Collaborate with platform engineers on architecture, code reviews, and production readiness
Make deliberate tradeoffs between immediate customer value and long‑term platform quality
Strong full‑stack software engineering skills and a track record of shipping working products
A computer science background or equivalent technical depth gained through practical experience
A maker’s instinct: you make ideas tangible, test them, and improve them through use
High agency: you identify what needs to happen, make decisions, and drive work through to completion
Strong product judgment: you understand the underlying problem and choose a practical solution
Comfort with uncertainty: you can move forward without a complete specification and adapt when new information changes the plan
Confidence working directly with enterprise customers and communicating with nontechnical stakeholders
An AI‑native development approach: you use coding agents effectively and can independently review, debug, and improve their output
Flexibility when priorities shift and the resilience to deliver during demanding periods
Clear communication in English; German is a plus
Curiosity about AI, legal reasoning, and compliance automation
Experience building something of your own—a startup, side project, open‑source tool, or product with real users
Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Product Engineer, or in another customer‑facing engineering role
Prior experience at an early‑stage startup
Experience building AI applications, agents, workflow systems, or enterprise integrations
Experience in legal tech, compliance, or a highly regulated industry
Practice the skills of a founder: customer discovery, prioritization, rapid execution, and ownership of outcomes
Build a multi-agent platform used by some of the world's largest organizations, with direct access to the people using it
Work closely with founders and see how an early‑stage company makes product, technical, and commercial decisions
Shape our core platform, with room to grow as a technical leader as the team expands
Real ownership: take a problem from the first conversation to a shipped solution
Competitive salary and equity
An ambitious team that takes responsibility, moves fast, and cares about what it builds
