Fire Safety Engineer (MCF/Data Centres) – Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany

We’re expanding, and we’re looking for a Fire Safety Engineer to join our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany. As a Fire Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in cutting-edge data centre projects, collaborating with an in-house multidisciplinary team of experts. As part of our internationally recognized team, your contributions will directly impact on the reliability, sustainability, and profitability of critical data infrastructure worldwide.

Your role

As a Fire Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Lead engineer of the fire safety systems in project teams. You will be responsible for the following systems:

  • Fire alarm systems (based on local code);
  • Sprinkler systems (based on NFPA/ FM Global);
  • Gas extinguishing systems (based on NFPA / FM Global / VDS);
  • BOS system (Germany only);
  • Dry riser systems (based on local code);
  • Fire hose reel systems (based on local code);
  • Hydrant system (based on local code);
  • Smoke/ heat extraction systems staircases/ elevators (based on local code),
  • Portable fire extinguishers (based on local code).

Development of design documents, Cause & Effect matrixes, specification sheets, installation diagrams and coordination with other departments for the space reservations etc.;

Bring your knowledge of functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability to the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revisions.

What you bring

  • A technical bachelor's or master's degree, with at least 5 years of relevant working experience of which 2 years should be in Data Centres.
  • Experience with BIM way of working, Revit and integrated design approached;
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients, and a good understanding of the sector-specific daily operational business of our clients;
  • The ability to perform best in a multidisciplinary team, often with international colleagues;
  • A good command of the English. You must be able to communicate fluently with colleagues and clients;
  • Ability to develop fire concept reports / Brandschutzkonzept (for Germany) is highly advantageous;
  • Shall be located/based in Frankfurt or the greater Hessen area of Germany, or willing to relocate.
